According to recent reporting, it has also formed a dedicated robotics group led by former Cruise chief Marc Whitten, reportedly focused on a humanoid robotics software and sensor platform that other manufacturers could license rather than on building its own hardware. The unit positions Meta as a potential AI and platform provider for robotics, leveraging its foundation models and consumer device expertise.
