About
Aldebaran is a French humanoid robotics company best known for creating the NAO and Pepper humanoid robots, which have been widely adopted in education, research, and customer-facing service roles. Originally founded as Aldebaran Robotics and acquired by SoftBank Group in 2012, the company was later sold to Japan's United Robotics Group in 2022. It remains a recognized pioneer in social and companion robotics, with NAO still a standard platform in university research and STEM programs.
